US says whoever is responsible for the genocide of Las Anod people will be held accountable

The United States government has said that those responsible for the killing of civilians in the city of Las Anod will be held accountable for three weeks of fighting.

The fighting between the Hargeisa SNM militia and the people of Las Anod has so far confirmed the death of 96 people, while more than 500 have been injured.




“The United States government condemns the continuation of indiscriminate attacks that have killed dozens of civilians in Las Anod and displaced more than 185,000 people from their homes,” said a statement from the Office of African Affairs of the US Department of State.

“The violence must stop and those responsible must be held accountable,” the statement added.

The Hargeisa SNM militia has been shelling public places in the city, which has killed many civilians.




The international community has declared that it strongly condemns genocide committed by warlord Muse Bihi Abdi and the continuation of the war in Las Anod, which has caused deaths, injuries and also heavy destruction committed by warlord Muse Bihi.

Warlords Muse Bihi, Mohamed Kahin, Nuh Ismail Tani with their Hargeisa SNM militia are shelling, bombing hospitals, mosques and massacring women and children, examples of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
