Villa Somalia calls on the international community to divert aid programs through federal member states

The Somali government has asked the international community to assist Somalia in the fight against Coronavirus and helping its people.

The demand was made by Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, who held a meeting today in the online video conference with ambassadors from Somalia and other international agencies in the country. Meeting discussed the situation in the country, particularly the epidemic in COVID-19. A statement from Kheire’s office said,

“The Prime Minister informed the officials at the meeting that the Government of Somalia wants to divert all government-supported programs to tackle COVID-19 and assisting vulnerable people in their impact on disease control measures. ” The Khaire’s request was accepted by the ambassadors and representatives of international agencies at the meeting, who pledged that all plans for their mission in the country would be diverted to the COVID-19 control and assistance to low-income Somali families.

Prime Minister Khaire thanked the international community for the continued support. The weak Somali government.
