12 Government Security agents killed roadside bomb in Somalia

Reports from the Dhusamareb district in Galmudug said that a landmine blast killed the district’s security commander Abdirashid Abdi Nur Shiqdon after his vehicle was targeted.

Reports say that the commander and his bodyguards were targeted as they passed near the Eldhere village, 30 km from Dhusamareb.



The blast also killed at least 12 soldiers killed roadside bomb . A local Elder reports the fighting between government forces and al-Shabaab forces. There was no immediate word on the fighting.

Somalia has been violent since the eruption of a civil war between clan-based armed groups in early 1991. The situation has been further complicated by Al-Shabaab militants, who are staging numerous attacks across the country in an attempt to impose a radical version of the Sharia law in the country.
