Professor Ismail Buba said that opposition candidates think the government will collapse by February 8 2021.

Professor Ismail Buba of the Somaliland opposition party Wadani, has called on the candidates’ union in Somalia to leave the country in chaos, saying it was impossible for Farmajo to be removed without a replacement.

Speaking to the media in Hargeisa, Professor Buba said that the term of the Somali government is over but they will not be able to vacate the seat until a successor is elected.

”Time is running out, but until there is a successor to the parliament and the president, the old one will not leave, otherwise the government will collapse, the government will not fall apart, the government is in opposition and everyone is running for office and to come in,” says Professor Buba.

Professor Buba also said the council of candidates wanted to overthrow the government, but it was now clear that it is not possible.

“The union of the self-proclaimed candidates is a bit of a nightmare. They think you can oust the president and the parliament. They can be replaced, but there must be an election. It is now clear that this is not possible,” says Professor Buba.

Professor Buba added that it is possible to agree on an election in Somalia as it is a indirect election.

”Baidoa is the one that is sitting. I think there will be an agreement, and it is possible that there will be an all-inclusive and indirect election. It is not really an ordinary election, it is not an election. The whole tree is not that big, but it does not take a long time, it is just an agreement to get there,” said Professor Buba.
