African Union Mission in Somalia Appointed new leader Ethiopian General Tigabu





Mogadishu ─ The Ethiopian government has succeeded in leading the leadership of the African Union Mission in Somalia Amisom. General. Tigabu Yilma Wondimhunegn from Ethiopia has officially taken over the leadership of Amisom forces in Somalia after a briefing at Amisom base in Mogadishu.

The new battalion took over, General. Jim Beesigye Owoyesigire and running since January 2018, from Uganda and the African Union forces in Somalia, African Union, Somalia. Ambassador Francisco Madeira and the troops said it was the first command of the Ethiopian forces to take over the leadership of Amisom.

Meanwhile, Tigabu is a member of the Ethiopian Army for 34 years and has worked in various sectors including; Department of Physicians, Petroleum and General Commanders. “Operation is very large, but I am confident you can come out of the mission that is authorized and competent and competent,” said AU Special Representative to Somalia, Ambassador Madeira.
