The Ethiopian colony says it will not stop flying Ethiopian Airlines to Hargeisa airport after it faces two cases of Coronavirus. Somaliland continues and it will not stop flights from Ethiopian Airlines where the disease is prevalent, and it is believed that it has led to cases of Coronavirus-related cases in Somaliland.

Somaliland’s Minister of Information, Saleban Koore, has said that the government of Ethiopia has not suspended Ethiopian Airlines for the time being, and recently issued a decree banning people from Europe and the United States. Minister Koore said the Ethiopian Airlines was involved in the importation of people stranded at the airport and that those who had previously booked their travel tickets had to land at Hargeisa airport.

Somaliland is facing widespread health risks, as it has not yet taken concrete measures to control the spread of Coronavirus in its area, with cases related to the disease in Berbera and Burao. It is not clear why the federal government has taken action on Ethiopian Airlines flights to Somaliland, which it claims to be an independent country, but has not yet received full recognition from the international community.
