Deni is highly critical of Hassan Sheikh’s government and his attitude towards the independence of SSC Khatumo state

The governor of the Puntland administration, Said Abdullahi Deni, who last night held a highly organized event in Garowe to announce that he is once again standing for the presidency of the administration, spoke about many sensitive issues, first of all he talked about something his performance during his tenure in office.

Said Deni spoke about his position on SSC Khatumo being an independent authority like other authorities in the country.

“Supporting the self-determination of the people of Khatumo is one of my political programs if I return to power. Puntland has spent a lot of money on the liberation of the Sool region, which is now ruled by SSC Khatumo. I respect the decision and the fate of the people of those areas,” said governor Deni.

He also told the president of the Puntland administration Said Deni that Puntland is sanctioned by the federal government, and the international funds that supported Somalia Puntland share are still stuck in Mogadishu.

“I am telling the people of Puntland has faced severe sanctions from the federal government, and our international aid of Puntland is stuck in Mogadishu. “People tell me that you have not taken the funds from the federal government and do as they want. Do I give you a coin about your fate,” said Deni.

Said Deni has also verbally attacked some of the members of the candidates who are competing for the presidency of Puntland.

Finally, Said Deni declared that on January 8, with only 10 days left, the Puntland elections will include 66 MPs, while also respecting the independence decision reached by SSC Khatumo state.

SSC Khatumo state clan leaders says not participate in the elections in Puntland, saying that they will not select the 17 MPs they already had.

“We have decided that the 17 MPs will not be registered and will not participate in the Puntland elections. We have also decided that there will be no members present to be renewed, which means that there will be no members of parliament from Khatumo who will participate. Going into the Puntland elections, there is no more,” said the statement..
