Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh’s government announces health plan for the Djibouti president.

The Djibouti government has denied reports on social media about the health of President Ismail Omar Guelleh. The news, which was widely circulated on social media and also reported by some media outlets, said President Guelleh has fled to France, where he is in poor health.

However, Djiboutian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf denied the allegations in a statement posted on his Twitter account.

”President Ismail Omar Guelleh is fine. All the reports circulating his health are far from the truth,” said Mohamoud Ali Youssouf. ”He has been on holiday for a few days and is undergoing medical tests related to the fact that he will not be leaving the country this summer,” he added.

The minister said President Guelleh would resume his duties in a few days. “There is nothing special to worry about,” he said.

President Ismail Omar Guelleh, 73, has ruled Djibouti since 1999 and was elected in June 2021 for a fifth term.
