Candidates for the presidency of Somalia have expanded their conference in Mogadishu, with new officials joining them. Speaker of parliament Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman and his first deputy Abdiweli Sheikh Ibrahim Mudey joined the conference.

The conference has been taking place for the past three days at the Jazeera Hotel in Mogadishu. The meeting was scheduled to end on Monday, according to the board, but is still ongoing, and no date has been set for its conclusion. Led by former Minister of Information Mohamed Abdi Hayir Mareye, he joined the conference today.

Candidates at the conference are opposed to Villa Somalia’s electoral process. In particular, these candidates and other politicians, including the Speaker of the Upper House, are opposed to the nominated election commissions, which they say are drawn from NISA and government officials.
