Ethiopian troops have taken over Somalia airports in the Gedo region

Ethiopian forces have reportedly taken over all the airports in the Gedo region of Somalia, including important airports such as Luuq, Dolow, and Bardhere.

This action was taken after reports emerged that the Somali government is planning to send thousands of soldiers from Egypt to Somalia’s regions bordering Ethiopia.

The movement of the Ethiopian army is reported to have raised the tension in the Gedo region, as the Ethiopian army now has the confidence of the South West and Jubbaland administrations, who have already openly opposed the removal of the Ethiopian army from their areas.

The authorities said that the Ethiopian army is taking a major role in the war against Al-Shabab.

The vice president of Jubaland, Mohamoud Sayid Adan, who is from Gedo region, has already said that the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops will be a great benefit to the Al-Shabaab group.
