Farmajo presides over a preliminary meeting of the National Electoral Consultative Conference

Mogadishu, February 21, 2021: The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo chaired a preliminary meeting of the National Consultative Conference on the implementation of the recommendations of the Federal Electoral Technical Committee.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble, the Presidents of Galmudug, Ahmed Abdi Kariye, South West Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed, Hirshabelle Ali Abdullahi Hussein and the Governor of the Benadir region Omar Mohamoud Mohamed.



The President pointed out that the work of the Commission is fundamental to resolving the challenges facing the implementation of the September 17th agreement and their recommendations ending differences over the implementation of the electoral agreement, which reflects progress and democracy of the country.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo noted the efforts made at the Federal and State levels to improve governance, strengthen the unity of the Somali people and ensure political and security stability in the country.
