Great Somali singer Ahmed Naji Sa`ad
Ahmed Naji Sa`ad, one of the pillars of Somali art, died tonight in London, may God have mercy on him. His death was confirmed by his son Yahye Ahmed-Naji. Ahmed-Naji was one of the artists who had a great history in the Somali theater and literature.
Ahmed Naji is a Somali musician legend who revived Somali music with Kaban expertise and music writer. According to his historical record, he was born in 1939 in the district of Shibis in Mogadishu, which at that time was called Bilajo Arab.

Since the collapse, the singer has been one of the singers in the country who did not return much, except for the few times he came to the country. 2011 was the last time he traveled to Somalia.
It was in 1962 that Ahmed Naji was officially recruited to sing on Radio Mogadishu, and he performed a Banadir song called “He was in this world.”
The singer appeared in a program that aired every Sunday called “Lugo-Bahsi” on Radio Mogadishu, where musicians competed.
