Khadra Dahir Egeh, one of the most popular Somali singers of all time, has died in Hargeisa at the age of 65. Khadra died of pneumonia at the International Hospital in Hargeisa.




Khadra was born in 1957 in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, and joined art in 1974 at the age of 17, according to Somali historian.

The songs she sings are estimated at 2,550 songs of love and sorrow, many of which Somalis say touch on her life, but she never talks about it in detail, according to Somali historian.

“May God have mercy on Khadra Dahir Egeh’s family and all the Somali people and may God grant them patience and faith,” Nimo Dareen said in a statement posted on social media.




DJ Subeer, one of the most popular artists in Somali art at the moment, posted a statement on social media describing the singer as “a person of genealogy” Khadra Dahir may God bless her in Paradise “May God give us all patience and faith.”

Khadra Dahir, who has been living in Hargeisa for some time, said she left art and left behind five children.
