Ilhan Omar condemned the US Immigration and Customs due to the possibility of deportation to immigrants illegally in the US back to Somalia. Democrat lawmakers have blamed fears of coronavirus.
“Immigration is set to deport dozens of individuals from my district of Somalia, threatening the spread of COVID,” Minnesota Democrats wrote on Twitter. She said deportations not only pose a threat to these individuals, but could have far-reaching consequences for Somalia.
Vulnerable prisoners could face the worst possible consequences of deportation,’ as Democrats said in a letter to the Department of Homeland Security about the spread of the coronavirus in ICE detention centers.
