After recent efforts by representatives of the international community in Somalia, a preliminary meeting will be held tomorrow to discuss the issues surrounding the election of the leaders of the Federal Government of Somalia, regional governments and the Benadir region.
Meanwhile, in a statement said from the Somali presidency last night that President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo had reconvened the presidents of the regional states and the Benadir region at a meeting in Afisyoni tomorrow.
But a statement from the Puntland’s governor denied claims by the Somali presidency that tomorrow’s conference will be chaired by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
Tomorrow’s meeting will be a prelude to a conference aimed at resolving the long-running dispute over Somalia’s national elections. The international community for its efforts said they would attend the conference on Saturday.
