Kenya calls former Somali officials to testify against their home country in the ICJ

Former Somali Prime Minister Omar Abdurashid Ali Sharmarke, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame stoically defended the Memorandum of Understanding agreement. They says it is necessary to show cooperation between neighboring states in order to demonstrate Somalia’s claim for an extension of its continental shelf. Which rejects the Somali parliament and International Court of Justice.



According to Kenyan officials told Somali Times the Kenyan government called Omar Abdurashid Ali Sharmarke, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame as witnesses for Kenya International Court of Justice to testify against their home country Somalia.

Sources say the Kenyan government has warned former three corrupted Somali officials if Somalia wins the maritime case they wanted the money they took from them when they signed the Memorandum of Understanding 30 million dollar agreement.

The International Court of Justice ruled out the Memorandum of Understanding.

The Kenya and Somalia maritime case is due to 15th-19th of March 2021.
