Prime Minister Roble visits US military base in Baledogle

The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, recently visited the US military base in Balidogle, Lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia.

Roble, accompanied by government ministers and military officials, is monitoring the operations of Danab and US forces based there. During his stay in the camp, the prime minister will meet with US and Danish military officials to discuss the fight against al-Shabaab in southern Somalia.

He will also assess Roble at the Balidoogle camp for special training for the Somali National Army’s Danab commandos. However, the visit comes as the United States plans to withdraw its troops from Somalia soon, a decision announced earlier by President Donald Trump.
