Somali government prevents arms and ammunition from being smuggled into the country




The Federal Government of Somalia has said it has prevented illegal weapons and ammunition from being smuggled into Somalia, following intelligence reports. A statement from the government’s Ministry of Information said the government had received intelligence that foreign agencies, foreign countries and Somali allies were trying to smuggle heavy weapons and ammunition into the country, Somali government said without permission.




‘The Somali government has a strict system and strict procedures for the importation of weapons from the point of entry to the final point of storage. This system has made it easier for the government to identify and prevent these illegal weapons from entering the country,” the statement said.

The government also said that the plan to bring weapons into the country was a threat to peace and stability in the country, and that the move was seen as an invasion of the country.

The Federal Government of Somalia considers this plan to bring illegal weapons into the country and anything that threatens the peace and stability of the country as an invasion of the sovereignty and stability of the country. ‘It is taking a tough stance,’ the statement added.
