Somali officials says the Kenya Government is interfering with elections in Somalia.

The relationship between the Somali government and the Kenyan government has deteriorated over the past week.

The Somali Times has learned from diplomatic sources that the government’s intentions are as follows:

1. Pressure on Kenya to suspend Somali opposition meetings in Kenya.

2: Control and shut down the Emirati government’s funding for Somalia’s elections through Kenya.

3: Banning the illegal importation of khat from the Jubaland regions, during an agreement with Ethiopia to import khat and import goods such as fish.

4: Pressure on Ahmed Madobe to allow him to select lawmakers who support President Farmajo.

This is not the first time diplomatic relations between Somalia and Kenya have deteriorated.
