Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has fired the Director of Staff Abdullahi Kulane and the Head of Security at Aden Adde International Airport Abdiwahab Sheikh Ali.

The dismissal of the two officials was in response to today’s decision to deny the departure of Somali nationals, including former Gedo Governor Osman Nur Haji Moalim, from Aden Adde International Airport.

Somali government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Maalimuu recently told the media that citizens who were banned from flying today had the right to fly out of Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport.

Recently, the Prime Minister of Somalia ordered that no Somali citizen can be turned away from Aden Adde International Airport, and the dismissal of the two officials comes at a time when the former governor of the Gedo region asked Prime Minister Roble to resign. Abdullahi Kulane was fired a few hours later.
