Somali prime minister meets SSC Khatumo leader




The Prime Minister of the federal government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, today held a special meeting with SSC-Khatumo leader Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali who arrived yesterday in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

The sensitive meeting took place at Villa Somalia, especially the prime minister’s office, where several issues were discussed.

First of all, the prime minister heard from the leader of SSC-Khatumo a report on the social and living situation in Las Anod, the capital of Sool region.

Abdulkadir Ahmed Aw-Ali also thanked the federal government for the invitation extended to him and the great welcome he received in the capital city of Mogadishu.

Prime Minister Hamza who spoke at the forum declared that the federal government of Somalia stands for the protection of the unity and solidarity of the Somali nation and that any differences that exist should be resolved through dialogue.

The meetings will continue, the purpose of today’s meeting was information, interview and reception, as it is the first time that the leader of SSC-Khatumo has arrived in the country’s capital since he was elected in the city of Las Anod.

Abdulkadir has already met with the Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Somalia, ministers, members of parliament, the Chief of Police and other officials.

The leader of the SSC came to Mogadishu to meet with the country’s top leaders and some representatives of the international community based in the capital, to discuss the situation in the city of Las Anod, which has already been the scene of serious battles.

The news adds that Abdulkadir will negotiate with the central government about the future of SSC-Khatumo which has declared itself as an independent administration.

The federal government is giving importance to the people of SSC who have removed power from the Hargeisa administration’s SNM militia, and have recently formed a unified administration.
