Somalia declares its support for the separatist movement in Ethiopia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, has strongly stated that Somalia will support the separatist movement of Ethiopia, if Ethiopia does not immediately withdraw from the agreement with Hargeisa administration.

The minister claimed that if Ethiopia continues its intervention and agreements with separatist groups, Somalia will take steps he described as “withdrawal.”

He said that Somalia does not want the destruction of Ethiopia, but if the intervention continues, Somalia has the opportunity to establish relations with the Ethiopian rebels.

“We do not want the destruction of Ethiopia now, there is no interest in Somalia and the Horn of Africa. But, if they continue to make agreements with the separatist groups, it is an open way for us to establish relations with the separatist groups in Ethiopia,” he said. said Fiqi.

The minister stated that Ethiopia’s intention is not to give Somalia a sea port, but it wants to take part of the Hargeisa administration.




“Djibouti has been given a port with road infrastructure, which is the closest place to Ethiopia, but Ethiopia is not going there, it wants the inheritance of the next generations of Somalis,” Minister Fiqi added.

Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out that Ethiopia has a naval force whose aim is to take over some of the Somali lands in the most strategic areas of the world.
