The Gedo regional administration has rejected a decision by the Federal Electoral Commission to move the Garbaharey election to Elwaq, calling it illegal and behind by Uhuru Kenyatta, puppet Ahmed Madobe.

The chairman of the administration, Ahmed Bulle, told the Somali Times that they were committed to the September 17 2020 agreement.

“Garbaharey is part of the September 17th 2020 agreement. The lawmakers who were sworn in this morning were sworn in on September 17th 2020 agreement, and the rest will be elected on September 17th 2020 agreement. No one can change a single article. Yesterday we stood and now we stand,” he said.

Ahmed Bulle said of being unorganized and biased. “I assure you that if the letter is true we will elect the remaining members of parliament in Garbaharey and the election will take place in Garbaharey,” he told Somali Times.

He said there had been no initial agreement on holding the election in Garbaharey, which was part of the September 17 agreement, and that they would not tolerate it and would hold elections.

“I want the man in Elwak to hold an election. We are accountable to the law. If the law is violated, we will not hold anyone accountable. We will hold our elections in a free and fair manner,” said Ahmed Bulle, the chairman of the administration.
