The federal government of Somalia has announced that it has officially recognized the administration of SSC-Khatumo, which is based in Las Anod, the of Sool region northern Somalia.
The Minister of Somali Affairs, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, who is surrounded by the transitional leader of the SSC, welcomed the government’s decision.

In a press conference held by the two officials, it was said that the government recognizes the statement issued by SSC-Khatumo on February 6, which stated that it is not the administrations of Puntland and Somaliland, but under the Federal Government.

The position of the federal government in recognizing the Khatumo state administration is of great benefit to the people of the SSC-Khatumo areas who are currently at war with Hargeisa administration.
