The Minister of Internal Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, who spoke last night at an event in Mogadishu, spoke about the issue of Hargeisa administration, saying that after 30 years, the flag of Somalia will be brought to Hargeisa.

Fiqi declared that the federal government will end what he called the 30-year-old drama of Hargeisa administration’s independence.

He also pointed out that now the government of Somalia is committed to restore the unity of Somalia, and the Hargeisa administration should be part of the government of the country.

This statement was made by the minister about the Hadhiwa noise show written by Mohamed Haldor from Hargeisa, saying that as long as Haldor is healthy outside the country, the blue flag will be brought to Hargeisa administration.

“The Somalia national flag will be brought to Hargeisa, whether they like it or not,” Minister Fiqi said in his speech.

Minister Fiqi has also responded to a seemingly humorous statement written by UCID party chairman Faizal Ali Warabe about officials including Fiqi.

Governor Faysal wrote on his Twitter account that Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, Abdirahman Abdishakur and Abdirahman Odawa wore clothes they looted in 1991 when the government of Somalia collapsed.

Fiqi replied, “But Fiqi said that they are also busy trying to prove to the Hargeisa authorities the lies they have been telling the public for 30 years.”

However, this statement comes as talks between the central government and Hargeisa administration have recently started in Djibouti.
