Somalia renews the Albayrak company port agreement in Mogadishu.

A five-day meeting between a delegation from the Federal Government and the Turkish company Albayrak, which operates the main port of Mogadishu, has finally reached an agreement. The Somali delegation included Acting Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport Maryan Aweys, Acting Minister of Finance Abdirahman Duale Bayle, advisers from the Prime Minister’s Office, and the agreement was signed by Maryan Aweys.

The Somali ambassador to Turkey Jama Abdullahi Aideed said the deal consists of 200 pages so considered agreed.




Albayrak Group was one of the companies that competed for control of the Mogadishu port in 2015 and has promised to restructure and expand the capacity of large ships. Deal in 2015, took over Mogadishu port 20 years, was signed during President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, the last two years are continued efforts to adjustment agreement, which ended today.
