Somalia warns Kenya for interfering its Sovereignty




The Kenyan government has apologized for allowing Somaliland to attend a conference of foreign diplomats based in Nairobi yesterday. Kenya has interfered with Somalia’s internal affairs and its Sovereignty Somalia warns to Kenya.

The Kenyan government has told the Somali government that it is “deeply saddened” that the Somaliland flag was displayed during a diplomatic meeting between the Kenyan president and foreign diplomats.




A statement from Kenya’s foreign ministry said the move was not intended to give priority to anyone from Somaliland.

The Kenyan Foreign Ministry told the Somalia embassy in Nairobi that Kenya recognizes the unity and values of the Somali federal government.

Relations between Somalia and Kenya have been frosty in recent years. Officials in Mogadishu said Kenya of interfering in Somalia’s relations in Jubaland and have suspended the sale of Kenyan drug Miraa in Somali markets as retaliation. In addition, the ICJ ruled largely in Somalia’s favour last year.
