Somalia’s prime minister opened the Blue Economy Investment in Mogadishu

The Prime Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, opened the Blue Economy Investment Conference in Somalia presenting investment opportunities in our marine resources.

The Prime Minister encouraged local and international investors to take advantage of the many opportunities available for investment in Somalia’s blue economy.

The Prime Minister said that Somalia is working hard to attract and encourage international investments, in order to increase the production of the country, which can lead to sustainable economic self-sufficiency.

He pointed out to the Prime Minister that the instability and conflicts in the country have led to the country’s resources not being used. He declared that Somalia is now ready to do business with and benefit from, and the government has enacted laws to guide investment in the country.

The conference, which lasts for two days, will be attended by Ministers of the Government of Somalia, Ministers of Fisheries of the regional governments, ambassadors and international companies that care about marine resources.
