The Speaker of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Senator Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, had a private meeting with the new British Ambassador to Somalia, Ms. Kate Foster.
The President and the Ambassador discussed the overall situation in the country and issues that face the elections are expected to be held soon in the country. Both issues have been put in place, including appropriate mechanisms for further efforts as sustainable election issues.
Abdi Hashi Abdullahi congratulated Ms. Kate Foster on her new appointment and urged her to take part in efforts to resolve the country’s electoral dispute.
The international community has a strong commitment to complete the election dispute and dialogue with the federal government to reach an agreement.
