Galkayo – A Somali military official was killed on Saturday in bomb blast in Somalia’s central town Galkayo.Col. Abdi Abdullahi Mohamud has died after a man reportedly wearing IED blew himself up near a Military vehicle.
An early report says the blast killed Mohamud and two others as over six other soldiers have sustained injuries.
Mohamud served as transport officer at the Prime Minister’s office before he was appointed to lead a training base in Galkayo town.No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack though Al-Shabab militant group carried out similar attacks in the past.Somali National Army (SNA) has not yet commented on the attack.
