Last night’s clashes in parts of Mogadishu between General Sadaq John and Farmajo’s troops subsided following the efforts of Galmudug Governor Qoor Qoor, a relative of Sadaq.

Reports say that Qoor Qoor has succeeded in preventing a clash between Farmajo’s forces and the former Benadir regional police commander in the Shirkole neighborhood of the Hodan district.

The government’s forces have reportedly withdrawn from the Shirkole neighborhood where General Sadaq John is still stationed.

When it emerged last night that the government was planning an attack on General Sadaq, he was rescued by several armed men from the community, following efforts on social media by the Hawiye community Habar-Gidir MPs who called for support.

It is also reported that the government felt the consequences of the attack on Sadaq John and the confiscation of firearms from the city, which led to the attack not being rushed.

Our sources also say that Qoor Qoor persuaded General Sadaq to return to his home near Aden Adde International Airport, where he had previously resided. However, Sadaq is still in Shirkole, and it is unclear when he will leave although he has accepted Qoor Qoor’s request.

It is not clear why Qoor Qoor persuaded Sadaq to return to the Mogadishu airport, the interest of the government, and some people have interpreted it as a conspiracy to attack him when he got there, as he did not have the same defense as the Hodan district.

It is unclear where the situation will end whether General Sadaq will return to his home near Aden Adde International Airport.

According to sources from Somali officials told Somali Times that Farmajo and Fahad Yasin offered bribes of 2 million dollars to exile Sadaq John to Turkey
