The conference between Somali regional leaders and the international community opens in Halane

Somalia’s members of the international community based in Mogadishu, meeting with leaders of regional administrations, which to discuss 2021 election issues. The meeting, which took several hours 2021 election dispute in the country.

Sources close to Somali Times said to the meeting of international community ambassadors and five regional leaders said the focus will be on resolving the election dispute.



The meeting was chaired by UN envoy James Swan, accompanied by the African Union envoy, the US ambassador and other ambassadors to Somalia.

A source close to the talks among Somali Federal Member State leaders told Somali Times the international community pressured the two leaders Jubaland Governor Ahmed Madobe and his Puntland counterpart Said Deni to withdraw their demands and allows Somalia’s 2021 election.
