An investigation into the accident involving the son of the president of Somalia Hassan Sheikh, which was conducted in recent days by crime experts and the Forensic Institute of Turkey, has produced a new report.
The report said that the car accident in Istanbul on November 30 that killed Yunus Emre Göçer, a motorcycle driver, was the fault of Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, according to the results of the investigation by the Institute and the experts.

According to the results of the investigation, Mohamed Hassan Sheikh, who was driving at a high speed, hit the motorcycle, turning to the right, while the driver of the Göçer motorcycle reduced his speed and turned to the right.

The investigation report also stated that Mohamed Hassan Sheikh did not consider the situation and did not apply the brakes, thus he was at fault.

The Minister of Justice of Turkey, Yılmaz Tunç, recently said that Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, the son of the president of Somalia, who was accused of being the cause of a car accident that killed a motorcyclist in Istanbul, will return. Turkey.

Speaking at an event in Ankara, the minister said that he had meetings with Somali judicial institutions, and said, “In the next few days, it is possible that the accused will come to Turkey and take part in the trial.”
The son of the President of Somalia was accused of being involved in the accident that led to the death, which happened on Aksaray Kennedy Street in the city of Istanbul. Yunus Emre Göçer, 36 years old, died.
The car driven by Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud collided with the motorcycle driven by the deceased man, as seen in the video recorded by the hidden cameras which X point was posted by the mayor of Istanbul, and at that time the man was injured, he passed away on the 6th December 2023.
The preliminary report stated that Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud was innocent and therefore the accused was released, but the Minister of Justice of Turkey said that the second report revealed that he was guilty.
Yılmaz Tunç, the Minister of Justice of Turkey, also said that there is a big difference between the latter investigation and the former one, while the latter was part of the laboratory.
The minister has already said that “a court investigation has been initiated against the police officers who went to the scene of the crime and brought the wrong assessment at the beginning of the accident”.
The Istanbul Prosecutor General’s Office said that the accident report prepared immediately after the incident showed that the motorcyclist violated the law, thus releasing Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud.
After Göcer’s death on 6 December 2023, a road traffic police expert committee was sent to the scene of the accident.
