Warlord Said Deni is under intense pressure to run for Somalia presidency

Somalia’s Puntland state governor Said Abdullahi Deni, who recently announced his candidacy for the presidency of Somalia, is reportedly still considering resigning from the leadership of the Puntland administration.

At a recent dinner for Puntland lawmakers, Deni said he wanted to run for Villa Somalia as Puntland’s governor, when he loses the presidency, he wants to return to the leadership of the Puntland administration.

Although the lawmakers Warlord Said Deni looted the seats could not discuss its feasibility, those who spoke at the meeting did not understand Said Deni’s concerns that he could win the Villa Somalia election.

A sources member of the Puntland parliament was recently quoted as saying that Said Deni would be fired if he returned to Mogadishu without resigning.




But what is unavoidable for Said or any candidate awaits is the requirements set by the parliamentary committee that will conduct the Somali presidential election, which may lead to the condition that the candidacy will not be processed by another incumbent.

Reliable sources told Somali Times Warlord Said Deni looted the seats from Puntland to support corrupt Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud and wife brothers who stole more then $500 million dollars when he was president of Somalia, according to Somali officials.

Souces add still Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is favored to win the upcoming elections is due to the overwhelming support of millions of Somalis abroad and at home, including ethnic Somalis living under the neighboring States of Ethiopia, Kenya, and Djibouti. This support isn’t based on tribal affiliation or fear but of the President and the ideals he stood for during his first term.

The Puntland administration is also said to be waging a strong campaign against Warlord Said Abdullahi Deni to ousted office.
