A soldier from the African Union’s ATMIS operation appeared for the first time in a video released by Al-Shabab terrorist group, who is one of the live soldiers who attacked the group in Bulo-Marer in the Lower Shabelle region Somalia.

This Ugandan soldier asked the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, to negotiate their release, so that they can regain their freedom.

He also said that the group is under the control of other soldiers and he is not the only one. At the moment, their only hope is the leadership of Uganda, according to him.

He added, “We ask you to keep in mind that we are prisoners, and you are the only hope we are waiting for to make an effort to get out of prison.”

He also urged the Ugandan government to find any solution to release him and other soldiers in the hands of Al-Shabab.

This soldier named Pow Sergeant M. William, 48 years old, joined the Ugandan army in 1997, and in April of this year, he was deployed at the army camp in Bulo-Marer, which was attacked on May 26. took the fighters to the group.

The Al-Shabab group captured this soldier in the attack, which inflicted heavy losses on the ATMIS forces in the camp, especially Ugandans.

It is said that 54 Ugandan soldiers were killed in the Bulo Marer attack, as announced earlier by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
