Ex-Somali Prime Minister Ali Khalif was poisoned by Ethiopian spy agency, family says, as they call for investigation.




The family of the former Somali Prime Minister of Somalia Ali Khalif Galaydh has called for an suspect. The family was not satisfied with the results of the autopsy conducted by the Ethiopian authorities.

A relative of the former Somali Prime Minister Ali Khalif claimed Mukhtar Hamid Ali Khalif may have been poisoned contrary to the autopsy report that the succumbed to COVID19. Somali State Deputy Minister of Health Mukhtar Yusuf said Friday the former Prime Minister died of COVID19 based on a post mortem conducted after the death of the former leader.

“He had abdominal pains and diarrhea making him dehydrated. We need to know which food he ate and who gave it to him,” Mukhtar Hamid said. “This is not an easy thing.”



The family of ex-Somali prime minister opposed to police investigations in Jigjiga where Ali Khalif died noting there was no impartiality. He called for another autopsy to be conducted in line with the terms of the family. The remarks came amid preparations for burial in investigation over the death of their kin noting the circumstances surrounding his death are Mogadishu Saturday.
