Farmajo sacks Ahmed Awad and appoints a new foreign minister

Somali President Mohamed Farmajo has fired Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Isse Awad and replaced him with Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud Abubakar. Another decree issued by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo stated that Ahmed Isse Awad has been appointed ambassador, although the country has not been announced.

Sources’ reliability told Somali Times that Awad relates to a dispute letter yesterday on the address on the Ministry of Ethiopia, with backed war against the state of Tigray. The letter was later removed from Twitter. “I confirm that there is no official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the situation in Ethiopia,” Awad tweeted. ”The transcript does not represent the views of the Somali government, so it is not accurate.”




Sources reliable in Mogadishu said that the reason for this back to an offer from the government of Ethiopia, who has spoken to the Somali government, which demanded a more difficult one to be blinded, and many wondered how the government supported the war moving within another country.
