The outgoing president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo today celebrated Eid al-Adha with units of the Somali National Army and encouraged them to dedicate themselves to defending their country and protecting the dignity of their people.
Mohamed Farmajo said the heroes of the Armed Forces who stood up for the liberation of the country and the elimination of the ruthless Al-Shabab terrorists will go down in history, as they endured difficult circumstances to liberate their country.
“You are a national army that stands for the defense of the country, the restoration of statehood and the protection of the Somali people. I congratulate you on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and your national duty. It is a special pleasure for me to be at such events with you as the heroes we are proud of,” Farmajo said.
Mohamed Farmajo praised the ongoing operations against terrorists who are accustomed to massacring the Somali people, as the heroes of the Somali National Army making great strides in their operations where terrorists are hiding.
