Foreign Ministers Djibouti and Eritrea reach agreement border dispute





Djibouti – Djibouti and Eritrea have reached an early agreement to curb the conflict over the border between the two countries. The two sides, based on the Eritrean occupation of the Eritrean invasion of the Dumera, resulted in the withdrawal of troops from the Asmara military force and raided  Djiboutian border.
After a long time, Eritrea and Djibouti agreed to re-establish their ties, and that’s a good step,” said Foreign Affairs Minister, Workneh Gebeyehu.

Following the talks, the foreign ministers of Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti met privately with President Ismail Omar Guelleh and welcomed the resolutions of the regional Heads of State.
Eritrea’s Information Minister, Yemane Gebremeskal, said on Twitter that Ismail Omar Guelleh expressed his willingness to achieve reconciliation and to improve relations between Djibouti and Eritrea.



Minister of Foreign Affairs Osman Saleh said his government is determined to reach an agreement with Djibouti to resolve the disagreements between the two countries.
Djibouti’s foreign minister, Mohamoud Ali Youssou, said they are genuinely telling the truth of a genuine agreement between his country and Eritrea, and the solution to any situation in the region.

The meeting of the foreign ministers of Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Eritrea issued a statement that was not elaborated and cautioned, pointing out that this is a major step towards the strengthening of peace and stability in the region to support economic integration in the Horn of Africa.
