Former Somalia president Farmajo meets with Ahmed Islam and Said Deni

Former Somalia President, Mr. Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo today met with the presidents of Jubaland and Puntland who are currently in Mogadishu.

The meeting, which took place at the airport in the Halane camp, came after Farmajo paid a visit to Ahmed Islam and Said Deni, who are currently holding political meetings in the capital.

The meeting was attended by members of Farmajo’s campaign team, including the former governor of Banadir region Omar Filish, who are part of the ongoing movement.

The purpose of the meeting was to educate and inform each other, and the meeting was also part of a large conference currently underway in the capital, especially in the Halane camp, which is focusing on the conflict in the country, especially the electoral process and amending the interim constitution.

The presidents of Jubaland and Puntland have already held a series of meetings with the Somalia Salvation Forum, which discussed the expected talks between Villa Somalia and the Future Council.

The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, also visited the Halane compound last night and visited Ahmed Islam and Said Deni, discussing preparations for the scheduled general conference.




However, the leaders of Puntland and Jubaland have previously confirmed that they will not leave Mogadishu until a full agreement is reached on the disputed issues, calling on the President to seriously face the scheduled talks.




The members of the Future Council also stated that the country needs security and an agreement on the electoral process, with only a few months left in the term of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
