Hassan Sheikh has refused to talk about politics and elections as he meets up with Somali spy chief Fahad Yassin.




Former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud and Somali spy chief Fahad Yasin have held an hour-long meeting in Mogadishu last night. The sensitive meeting was reported by the Somali spy agency sources which told Somali Times, Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud said the meeting followed a request from the Somali spy chief, Fahad Yasin, who then accepted former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and described it as an honorary visit and greetings, according to the statement.

He also said that Fahad Yasin tried to Hassan talk about politics and elections, but rejected it, he stressed that the President said to Fahad Yasin to keep out of political issues, and obligations on national security. Let politics be out of your hands from now on. ” said former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

The statement comes at a time when the country is in a state of transition in the run-up to elections, after the Dhusamareb conference announced the type of elections to be held in the country,
