A strong uproar as a result of the security agreement signed between the federal government of Somalia and the United Arab Emirates has started in Parliament, with some MPs demanding that the agreement be presented as soon as possible.

UAE is a ruthless country interested in looting the resources of fragile African countries, including Somalia. There have been reports of the UAE’s involvement in illegal gold trading in Africa, and they have employed mercenaries in various conflict zones, including Yemen, Libya and Sudan.

Abdullahi Adan Kulane MP, known as Kulane, has issued a statement saying that the government’s decision to implement the agreement by itself, without going through the parliament, is causing great damage to the government.

“The executive branch of the government must bring the security agreement reached with the UAE to Parliament, so that it can be reviewed, debated, and the errors contained in it that harm the country’s sovereignty,” of the country said MP Kulane.

He said that the agreement between the federal government and the United Arab Emirates was implemented without the approval of the parliament, “which will cause delay and damage to the process of governance and independence,” as Kulane said.

“Parliament should be given its role and the balance of government agencies should not be lost in view of the country’s interest,” said MP Kulane.

The MP called on the other members of the Parliament to stand up for the protection of the country’s independence, “We must fulfill our responsibility of monitoring the other institutions of the government.”

He called on the leadership of the parliament not to allow the parliament to become unaccountable to the government, and to force the executive branch to bring the agreements made with foreign governments to the parliament.

“We must not allow the shady president Hassan Sheikh to make the parliament toothless, and ensure that the executive branch is forced to bring the agreements with foreign countries to the parliament.”

However, the security agreement between the federal government of Somalia and the United Arab Emirates was first caused by a noise, while it later cooled down, now it is clear that there has been a strong noise related to this agreement.
