The internet in the capital Mogadishu, Hiran, Mudug, Shabelle, Bay and Bakool regions and Juba regions is completely off the air. This morning, people were hit by a power outage that affected remittance companies, media outlets and government offices on which internet service relied. It is not known why the internet was lost today, but it is due to a technical glitch in Hormud and Global companies that are the main providers of internet service.
The people of Mogadishu will be most affected by the lack of internet service if it continues, and many internet services will be completely shut down. Hormud, Global and Somtel are the most powerful internet service providers in central and southern Somalia.
