Somali spy agency says Al-Shabab plot to assassinate Farmajo

A statement from the Somali spy agency NISA said on its Twitter account that the National Intelligence Service had provided information to NISA officials about the threat posed by Al-Shabab to assassinate President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.

NISA also released a statement identifying the mastermind of the Al-Shabab plot to assassinate Farmajo identified as Mohamed Mahir.

“We have informed the National Authorities of the threat posed by the as Mafia to the President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo. Mohamed Mahir, a senior member of Al-Shabab, is carrying out the plan. We are monitoring everyone involved.” NISA said in a statement.
