Somalia Al-Shabab killed more than 50 people in Pearl Beach Hotel




The Somali government forces have ended an attack by an armed group of Al-Shabab on a hotel on Lido Beach called Pearl Beach Hotel. The group fought for many hours inside the hotel, killing more than 50 people who were in the hotel, according to Somali officials told Somali Times. Al-Shabab terrorists went in every room, killing each guest inside. So far, the guests have been of many nationalities Somali diaspora.

Al-Shabab terrorist group attacked the Pearl Beach Hotel in Mogadishu. The attack resulted in more than 50 fatalities, according to Somali officials.

The siege, initiated by five attackers with coordinated explosions before they opened fire, was brought to an end with all attackers neutralized.

The army managed to rescue some civilians from the hotel, but the security agencies have not yet released details of the damage caused by the attack.

The attack came at a time when the Somali government said that security in Mogadishu had been tightened, as the government deployed troops trained in Uganda.

Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack.
