Somalia Foreign Minister recruiting 17 advisers for embassies no diplomat background-loophole

Somalia Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia Ahmed Moalim Fiqi was illegally recruiting 17 advisers to foreign embassies who did not work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at least two year requirement.

These advisers were recruited in Somalia’s embassies in Turkey, the United States, Uganda, Kuwait, Syria, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Riyadh, Belgium, and Rome.

Senator Maram Farah Kahiye, who is the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, in the Upper House, described this appointment as illegal. Senator Maram said that the people appointed to these positions have no previous experience in foreign affairs.

She pointed out that this appointment is an insult to the employees who have been working for the ministry for a long time, some of whom have never been paid.

“When the employees of the ministry had a little chance, they brought people who are not qualified to work. I am sitting here for the rights of workers not to be trampled on, and not to be trampled on the law. No one can be brought outside, without having rights. workers,” said Senator Maram.

On the other hand, Minister Fiqi said that the appointment of these advisers was due to political reasons, noting that their appointment did not come from his personal wishes or that they belong to a tribe.
