Somalia opposition politicians warn of Hassan Sheikh’s looting and extortion on government land

Former Somalia President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, and MP Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame have issued a strong warning about the auction of public land.

Hassan Sheikh’s and his family of perpetuating the displacement of the poor, encroaching on educational and health facilities, saying that most of the land is being auctioned off to businessmen, while some is being given to private families, and some is being bribed by politicians.

“Therefore, we warn businessmen who illegally sell public land and other people who were given, bribed, or bribed not to be deceived by the ownership and possession of government land, and they should be aware of it,” they said in a press release.

These politicians also expressed strong concerns about the security, economic, and political governance situation in the country. They also stressed the need for the current government to urgently address the challenges.
