Somalia’s Foreign Minister report to the UN on the situation in the country

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Somali Government, Mohamed Abdirasak Mohamoud, held a private meeting with Volkan Bozkir, the current President of the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, which took place in the United States, the two leaders discussed the situation in Somalia, which is currently facing elections.



First, Minister Mohamed Abdirasak briefed Volkan Bozkir on the situation and the latest developments in the Somali government, especially in the areas of politics, security & infrastructure.

For his part, the president of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly addressed the forum and thanked the minister for his visit, while also praising the progress made by the federal government of Somalia.

Finally, he pledged that the United Nations would redouble its support for Somalia. However, the United Nations is assisting Somalia in a number of areas, including political, economic and reconstruction.
