Turkey is deporting a large number of Somalis

The Turkish government has said that they are deporting more than one million people who are immigrants.

Most of these people are born in Syria, Somalia and other Africans who are not legally in the country.

In recent months, the immigration authorities in Turkey have launched campaigns targeting Africans, including Somalis, who have lost their rights, but are still in the country and those who have entered the country illegally.

This campaign to collect immigrants has increased since the elections in the country, and it has become a strong feeling among the people, which cannot be underestimated.

Abdulcaziz Awil Mohamoud, head of an organization called Somali-Turkey Cooperation based in Ankara, told VOA about this issue and the burden faced by Somalis.

“Generally throughout the country during the election and after it, there was a campaign or campaign to look at foreigners with a special eye, because they became the 2nd point during the election campaign when the economy is left,” he said. said.

He also said that there is no specific target of the Turkish government for Somalis, but they are equal to other foreigners living in the country.

“At times, it may happen that the person who owns property in the country will be rejected, as there is no separate eye on people who own property in the country, foreigners and others. But we can say that the law is equal for everyone and everyone is required to have visa or residence if they complete it and accept the law.”

He added, “In most cases in Turkey, the person who entered the country illegally and the person who stayed illegally are the same. The person who broke the law will be dealt with by the police.”
