The US ambassador to Somalia, Larry Andre, reiterated that the United States has one policy in Somalia and recognizes the borders established during independence.

The ambassador made the remarks at an event in Minneapolis as part of a week-long celebration of Somalia’s independence.

”Our policy is similar to that of the last 62 years, of historic Somalia, with its historic borders, since the merger of what was known, the two regions of South and North were united, liberated themselves from Imperial British and Italian colonial rule.”

”British North Somalia colony and Italian South Somalia together,” US Ambassador to Somalia said.

He added that the United States would change its policy on Somalia one by one if both sides agreed to make a change.
